Beautiful 7' Round Enclosure Spiral Stair...

This stair was installed in a home in Ferndale, CA. One of our salsman, Joe Miller, worked with the customer to layout the perfect stair for this home. Here at Salter we specialize in customizing our stair to fit your needs in terms of riser height, entry/exit design, and overall creating the perfect spiral stair...

This particular spiral statistics are:

7 Foot Standard Package with 22.5 degree treads
21 Treads with our heavy duty 3/16" steel material
63 Round 1" Center Balusters with custom baluster tips
Continuous sleeves option which hides the center column and welds/hardware
A custom 90 degree curved platform
Powder coated Black
About 20' of custom round well enclosure rail on top
21 Oak Treads, Oak Platform cover, and round Oak Capping for rails
2 Wooden Oak Posts at end of round rails

In this profile view from the lower level you can see how the design worked perfectly so that the exit from below walks right into the center of the room

In this picture you can see how beautiful the round rail with the oak wood capping, corner posts, and platfrom cover look together. At Salter we can create round rail for any size opening including the matching wood for any design. All our wood is handcrafted by our skilled woodworkers
This final picture is a view from the top of the spiral down. You can really appreciate the craftmanship of how well the balusters join the one piece wood handrail directly into the wood tread covers for a beautiful look with no seams, breaks, etc

Unbelievable Custom Tree House...

More pictures from customer projects...

Greg from Gettysburg recently sent us pictures from his new tree house. As you can see for yourself below, this is certainly no ordinary tree house. One of our salesman, Paul Moser, worked with Greg to make sure that every detail was met and the stair would fit perfectly into his design.

Statistics on the Salter Spiral Stair below:

Our Steel Standard Package with a 3' 6" Diameter stair and15 Treads
Adjustable Sleeve with a standard square platform up top

Here is a great shot of the entire project...

This shot really shows the craftmanship that Greg put into this project. This was certainly no weekend job.

Here is a good view of the stair. As you can see our spiral stair was the perfect solution to going up the tree house and it certaily looks good doing it...

Well Greg, we at Salters' salute you for a beautiful job. We are proud that you picked our spiral stair to compliment your project.

Satisfied Customer Response...

We recently received a letter from Bob in Colorado Springs, CO. He wrote a letter thanking his salesman, Tom Carlin, for his beautiful new spirtal stair. Nothing makes us happier at Salter than happy customers and beautiful spiral stairs so I wanted to share some of the pictures with everyone.

First some statistics on Bob's Spiral Stair:

- Aluminum Diamond Pattern 6'6" Diameter with 22.5 degree treads
- 2 Center Balusters per tread with Custom Baluster tips
- Continuous Sleeve, Powder Coated Black
- 1.5" Aluminum Handrail, Heavy Duty 1/4" Wall Center Column
- Plus 34.5 feet of straight rail

So now to the picutures and actual quotes from Bob:

"The staircase is really quite nice"

Notice on this stair we provided a half turn bracket that attaches to the deck versus having a platform attach to the deck. Our salesman will work with you to determine what the best option is based on your project...

"The number of details that were well thought out was a real help"

This picture gives a good overview of the railings that we built for Bob. Here at Salters we can create all the matching railing to any custom size or design. Again, a salesperson will be able to work with you to make sure that our railing is made to your exact specifications. Then our 25 years experience in the buisness will make sure that your railing is just as beautiful as your stair.

In conclusion Bob writes, "The photo doesn't show one important detail about the deck. It faces west with a direct view of Pikes Peak and the Colorado Mountains. Your stair and rail enhance the view. Thanks"

This last quote discusses the best part about our spiral stairs. Not only are they built to the highest standards, but they are also beautiful...

Introduction to the Spiral Stair Blog

Welcome,

This is the place where you'll be able to read musings from the spiral stair world. Please feel free to post your own ideas, thoughts, dreams etc as I will be doing the same myself. I'm happy to help so let me know what I can do. Remember when thinking about installing a spiral stair you are not only adding a space efficient way to travel between floors, but also installing a visual masterpiece as well.

For those of you not familiar about spiral stairs you can go to our website at http://www.salterspiralstair.com/. This will show you some examples of spiral stairs as well as some basic information about the product. We make spiral stairs out of wood, steel, aluminum, galvenized steel, combinations of the wood and metals, and the list goes on and on...

Installation Questions

Installation Questions,

So while working at Salter people constantly call and ask us if they can install the spiral stair themselves. The answer is YES. The catch being if you have never seen a screwdriver in real life the reality is maybe you cannot, but for the advanced do-it-yourselfer the answer is still yes.

Our spiral stairs go together so easily that you will be able to put up the entire stair in a day with the help of a friend. We send you detailed instructions with the product (to see a copy of these instructions for continuous sleeve go here: http://www.salterspiralstair.com/csinstall.htm, for adjustable sleeve go here:http://www.salterspiralstair.com/install.htm) By sending our stair unassembled we allow you the customer to be able to install the stair when you want to because all our parts can fit through a doorway. Other companies will try to sell you pre-welded stairs, but all our stairs from steel through all wood come knocked down in a box.

After all this being said you obviously can still have a contractor install your stair and finish the wood to your exact specifications, but you certainly don't have to hire a contractor if you don't want to.

Questions, Comments? Always feel free to ask...

Forged Iron Collection from Salter Spiral Stair

Our home needed a spiral staircase due to space issues. After researching the web we found a kit that would work.

The kit was delivered, the instructions were complete and easy to follow. It took us about a day to assemble.

We think the finished stairs added to the beauty of our home. We purchased the stairs from Salter Industries.
